Vladof Hammer is better used by Brick and its ammunition feeding device size is annoyingly small, Vladof Revolution is outdone by Atlas rifles, and The Chopper is for PvP. +61% Weapon Damage, Cauterize, Defense, Grenadier, and +56% Weapon Reload Speed. The Rifleman COM adds more damage.

Skills I'd take for a combat rifle build: Impact, Metal Storm, Assault, Defense, Quick Charge, Deploy, Supply Drop (1 or 2 points), Overload, Stat. The rest depends on how much ammo and health regen you want. The main thing to keep in mind with Roland is that the turret's damage will eventually suck because it doesn't scale well enough.

Alright, well I adjusted my build for Lilith then. I'll be playing co-op with a group of 4. When I played Borderlands back on the day, I only did one playthrough with Mordecai. So despite being a long time fan of the series, a lot of this super in-depth RPG aspects of the game have eluded me. Does this look at all decent?

Roland is very boring, in terms of skill trees. He's a pretty basic run-and-gun type, with the turret providing support. But once you've got a full Metal Storm build geared up, he's a ton of fun to play - chewing through hordes of zombies, or mowing down a badass with a hundred bullets in the blink of an eye. 18.

Borderlands 1 has weird balance though. Personally I think you don't need any shotgun, if you get really good Anarchy SMG something like "HX 530 Steel Anarchy" or HX 150 or HX 550 by Torgue (accessories matter). Heavy Gunner COM is probably best choice for damage. Riffleman gives you ammo regen. Get both and swap when you need ammo.
